[Bug 677300] Re: python2.6 assert failure: python: tpp.c:63: __pthread_tpp_change_priority: Assertion `new_prio == -1 || (new_prio >= __sched_fifo_min_prio && new_prio <= __sched_fifo_max_prio)' failed.
Neal McBurnett, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. However, there are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in
Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix
Please test for this problem in LibreOffice. If using Lucid or Maverick
feel free to type at the Terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update &&
sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-writer
For more on LibreOffice installation, please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LibreOffice Please follow these instructions to
have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by
the automatic retracer.
If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.
Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
** Package changed: libreoffice (Ubuntu) => openoffice.org (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu)

Title:
python2.6 assert failure: python: tpp.c:63:
__pthread_tpp_change_priority: Assertion `new_prio == -1 || (new_prio
>= __sched_fifo_min_prio && new_prio <= __sched_fifo_max_prio)'
failed.
Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
Binary package hint: python2.6
I'm using Lucid (10.04), recently updated.
I ran a python script "ssconverter" to use openoffice to export spreadsheets as csv files. I found it here:
http://www.linuxjournal.com/content/convert-spreadsheets-csv-files-python-and-pyuno-part-1v2
I ran it on a spreadsheet (dozens of small sheets) while an openoffice spreadsheet was already running.
It seems to have taken over the openoffice program that was running, saved lots of sheets just fine it seems,
then tried to exit. It asked me to save some of the other spreadsheets I had open, and I declined when it asked if I wanted to save changes ("Cancel"). Then it crashed and offered to file a bug since I configured apport to do that for all crashes.
