Title:
No option given for secure erase
Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility
It would be nice if a "secure" erase type was offered in the disk
utility tool on the live CD. I believe the equivalent on OSX offers
this. It's not clear from any options given that the data on an
existing disk is going to be overwritten.
(Using Disk Utility 2.30.1 on Ubuntu 10.10 desktop live CD)
(I have used "shred" on the command line in the absence.)
