Title:
gnome-panel seems to depend on evolution
Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Problem: my gnome-panel dissapeared from one login to the next, after I removed some software that I don't need (and therefore don't want on my laptop).
I only ever use googlemail and therefore wanted to get rid of evolution and thunderbird. After clicking on remove in software-center, everything was seemingly fine. But after a shutdown and restart, I had no more panels.
It seems that the gnome-panel and a lot of other software was silently removed from my system while I removed evolution.
To me this is very clearly a bug, although I not sure where. My first
guess is, that gnome-panel should not depend on evolution, but it
could also be assumed that software-center should have warned me.
