Title:
Tray view shows steady about 2x to 3x more CPU load than a full view

Status in “gnome-system-monitor” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

  1. The trayed mini-view shows about 60%-75% overal processor load when
mouse passes over the icon. Whereas the full view shows that both
cores are less than 20% loaded.

  2. The back (dark blue) stripe in the Processor-window of the trayed
mini-view is almost always 50% or over and is higher than the front
(light-blue) stripe. I interpret the stripes as load graphs of my 2
CPU Cores. If so, then it is again differs from the full view
significantly, because both CPUs are equally loaded according to the
  full view.

both issues are quite often to observe.
