Title:
Evolution clock applet is slow and the popup position is skewed

Status in “gnome-applets” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I've attached a video... the clock applet popup is now unusable:
instead of instantly coming up, sometimes it takes a second, sometimes
2... and (not in the video unfortunately) sometimes is really really
hard to get it to show

on top of this, the position of the popup is completely wrong (please
note that in the video i recorded up to the top of the screen, so one
portion of the popup is unreachable), the problem with positioning
actually happened in 2 sessions, but in another session was showing
fine at the bottom of the screen (however, it was slow even if it was
  rendered correctly)
