Title:
trying to backup home folder causes permission error
Status in “file-roller” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Alright, try this:
- go to home folder '~'
- show all invisible '.' files
- press CTRL+A
- rightclick...
- compress...
- use any unused filename in target location
- to '.tar.gz' or '.7z' or whathaveyou
- to 'insert any location you have permissions to read/write to'
- press 'create'
--> An error occurred while adding files to the archive.
Permission denied
- if you think this wasnt fun enough, retry this with root privileges
--> Still errors out, but with another error message (that i forgot, just try it yourself)
--> Backing up all your valueable application settings, has NEVER been
easier
