Title:
Vinagre 2.26.1 won't auth with older VNC servers
Status in “vinagre” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: vinagre
Ubuntu 9.04
Vinagre 2.26.1-0Ubuntu1 (Jaunty)
Error during authentication with two related Mac OS 9 - based VNC servers
ChromiVNC 3.4.0a5 and
and Vine Server "OS9vnc Server v3.5.0" (http://www.testplant.com/downloads)
Expected: authentication complete (no pasword) or password challenge
Got: this dialog box:
AUTHENTICATION UNSUPPORTED
Authentication method to host 192.168.1.211:5900 is unsupported. (0)
This is odd, because other VNC clients (UltraVNC on PC for example)
can connect to it and authenticate correctly, independant of which
server is running.
