Title:
Log File Viewer is always empty (even when it should not be)

Status in “gnome-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The Log File Viewer is always empty. I set up GUFW and enabled
logging. I verified that logging is on using the "sudo ufw status
verbose" command. I set GUFW to reject all outgoing connections to
test the Log. I then tried using Firefox and some other applications
that connect to the internet. None of the applications were able to
successfully connect to the internet because GUFW was blocking.

Yet nothing is ever showing up in my Log File Viewer. On previous
versions of Ubuntu, the Log File Viewer would have recorded these
blocked internet connections. I restarted the computer and tried it
all again. Still a blank Log File Viewer.

I've attached a screenshot to show what the Log File Viewer looks like
  when I open it.
