[Bug 429393] Re: can't restore files in subfolders in trash via drag'n'drop

I am having the same problem as well. I tried to restore a folder that
had important files. Kept receiving "Items in the trash may not be
modified". Copying it instead of restoring the original worked.

Title:
can't restore files in subfolders in trash via drag'n'drop

Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

  steps to reproduce:

  - goto Desktop
  - create a Folder
  - create an empty file in this new folder
  - delete (move to trash) the created folder

  - open trash > open the created folder
  - grab the file with the mouse and release it on the desktop

  The following error message appears:
  Error while moving "new file".
There was an error moving the file into /home/ubuntu/Desktop.
  - Items in the trash may not be modified

If you COPY the file, it works.

(I filed this bug, because I think the shown procedure is very
  intuitive.)
