Title:
NetworkManager (Applet) is unable to connect to WIFI network with
2-digit numeric SSID
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
After upgrading to oneiric (fresh install) NetworkManager was unable to connect to my WIFI network with SSID "42". Security is configured to WPA PSK.
In natty this was no problem. In oneiric NetworkManager keeps asking for PSK. If you look into the connection configuration, after providing the correct PSK, you can see that SSID="42" is replaced by SSID="*". If you manually set this to the correct value, the connections succeeds one time. After that the configuration gets corrupted again.
Workaround for me was to configure my WIFI network with a longer
alpha-only SSID.
Let me know if I should provide further debug info.
