Message #36463
[Bug 876605] Re: URL not shown in status bar in Thunderbird 7
Thanks, but this works normally here. Please report all Thunderbird bugs
with Apport ("ubuntu-bug thunderbird"), as it attaches information about
your profile (extensions, some prefs etc). The screenshot shows that
your UI has been modified by something anyway, as the URL is normally
displayed to the left of the counters in the statusbar (which are
positioned to the right by default).

Title:
URL not shown in status bar in Thunderbird 7
Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Version: 7.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
Distribution: Ubuntu 11.10
When I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 this weekend, I noticed that the new
Thunderbird is lacking a feature I consider crucial for an email
client: When hovering the mouse cursor over a link inside a RSS feed
or email, the status bar doesn't show the actual URL the link points
to. This feature worked fine in previous Thunderbird versions, now
it's gone.
Is this intended behavior, and if yes, why was this feature removed?
Acreenshot of the URL _not_ showing in the status bar is attached, the
spot marked in red is where the URL was supposed to be printed.
