  Firefox/Pidgin doesn't pick the proxy settings

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am using ubuntu 11.10 unity desktop, when i set proxy settings in
  network settings options and click apply system wide it doesn't work
  with either firefox or pigin.
