Message #37119
[Bug 785212] Re: GIMP maximized window (F11) overlays menu / title bar
I can confirm that this problem is still present in Ubuntu 11.10.
Except this time it's the _grid_ that gets cut-off.
In addition, the menu now appears to work when the app is F11'd, but the
close/mini/maxi buttons disappear. And alt-tabbing out while this is
happening results in all other windows missing those buttons too,
similarly to how your other apps' menus were obstructed by the grid.

Title:
GIMP maximized window (F11) overlays menu / title bar
Status in “gimp” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gimp
Whenever GIMP is maximized by pressing F11, it overlays the unity
titlebar / menubar.
When switching apps (for example by using alt-tab) the gimp is visible
where the titlebar or menubar should be visible.
Also see the attached picture.
