[Bug 808048] Re: unable to add accounts using "Broadcast Accounts" applet

i have a similar problem, but only with statusnet (twitter worked fine).
the gwibber-service-statusnet (gwibber-service-
statusnet_3.2.0.1-0ubuntu1_all.deb) plugin works insofar as it allows me
to use the OAuth website of my statusnet server and the server logs show
that the authorization succeeded, but then there is only a text message
on the gwibber-accounts UI that says "Status.net authorized", and the
account is not added to the list.

at this point the UI looks like this:
<a href='http://bildr.no/view/1003514'><img src='http://bildr.no/thumb/1003514.jpeg' alt='1003514' /></a>

server side logs (words in ALLCAPS are placeholders):
<blockquote>

Title:
unable to add accounts using "Broadcast Accounts" applet

Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When trying to add Twitter and/or Facebook (I don't know about
Identi.ca, as I don't have an account with that service) accounts
using the "Broadcast Accounts" applet for Gwibber, I encounter the
  following problem:

  - After the "Add" button is clicked, and "Authorize" is clicked, I am
able to successfully enter my credentials in the web page frame that
appears in the window, however, after successfully authorizing, I am
thrown back to the "Broadcast Accounts" window and the account does
  not appear.

I was finally able to successfully add accounts after the actions
performed below, however, I am unsure as to which individual action
led to success. I plan on doing a fresh install of Ubuntu on another
machine, so hopefully between that fresh install and using virtual
machines, I can narrow things down to which specific action leads to a
  fix.

  - I closed the "Broadcast Accounts" applet since I was unable to add
any accounts. I had originally opened this applet using the Unity
launcher, just as I would open any stand-alone application.

  - I opened the "Gwibber Social Client" and accessed the "Broadcast
Accounts" applet through the "Accounts" item in the "Edit" menu.

  - I attempted to Add a new account. Previously, I had been changing
the color of the account label before authorizing my credentials.
This time, I didn't change any of the options presented after clicking
"Add" and straight away entered my credentials. This time, the
authorization was a success and I the account showed up in the left-
side menu of the "Broadcast Accounts" window. I then changed the
  color of the account label.

  - I was able to successfully add 3 Twitter accounts and 1 Facebook
account by performing the actions above.

I am unsure if changing the color was the issue, or if Gwibber Social Client needed to be opened at least once before a broadcast account could be opened, or if this was just a random glitch and I would have been able to successfully add an account after closing and re-opening the "Broadcast Accounts" applet. I just wanted to supply as much information as possible. I encountered this specific instance of the bug after a fresh install of Ubuntu 11 but I remember encountering it before in an earlier fresh install of 11 and after installs of previous Ubuntu versions. I can't remember what eventually led to successfully adding accounts in the past.
