[Bug 871797] Re: software centre has NO text search, making finding files difficult

 

Ubuntu Software Center 5.0 in Ubuntu 11.10 does have a search field, in
the same place as the search field in 4.0. If you don't have 11.10
installed any longer, I guess it won't be possible to find out why it
wasn't showing up for you.

The rest of your comment doesn't seem to have anything to do with USC.
If you try 11.10 or later in future, please report individual bugs
separately. Thanks.

  Chrome is installed. Firefox is removed. Yet language packs for FF
  constant reminder. Annoying.
