Well make sure you are using Unity 3D and not 2D, if you are using Unity 3D (I can't tell from the screenshot)
Then it might be a bug with the VirtualBox 3D virtual graphics adapter and i'll forward it to their bug tracker.

Bug description:
  Using print screen with a 3D accelerated desktop is broken.
  In 11.04 the picture will come out black with only the mouse cursor showing with no windows or menu bars.
  In 11.10 you will see the background and the mouse cursor but no windows or menu bars..
