Hello Juan, and thank you for your report. We are tracking this issue
over at bug 876210, so I will mark this one a duplicate of that one.
Please follow that bug for the status of a fix, and to make any further
comments, etc.

Note that we do have good news in that we have a much faster Software
Center version currently undergoing the SRU process. Please let my
comment #3 in bug 876210 for for details about that.

  The Ubuntu Software Center is a really slow app

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  The software center takes too long to satart up. The scrolling of any
  page inside the USC is not responsive/smooth at all. I think this
  should be fixed as soon as possible. Is that the impression we want to
  give? You click the icon and you have to wait for ages for the thing
  to show something, and even then you have to wait some more.... I'm
  really dissapointed by that... And really (conceptually speaking) the
  USC does very little... You open it, you see what's available you
  click and install. You could even just use a web page for that.
