I have experienced what I believe to be this same bug.  The problem is
that the password/connection does not appear to save correctly.  I'd
type in the password, NM would try to connect, fail, ask for the
password again.  (Repeat until bored.)  Then, looking in Network
Manager's list of connections, I would see my network listed multiple
times but when I looked at properties of each connection instead of the
SSID being "ssid-of-my-network" it was simply "-".

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  11.10 The Ubuntu laptop wifi identifies well my connection, but does
  not accept the password (it is my correct password, the WiFi worked in
  version 11.04 and earlier) No error messages in return. I checked with
  the command rfkill and everything is ok. In wired so good. I also did
  a test with live cd Lubuntu the same problem.

  Ubuntu 11.10 Le portable en wifi identifie bien ma connexion, mais
  n'accepte pas le mot de passe ( il est correcte mon mot de passe, le
  wifi fonctionnait en version 11.04 et antérieur ) Pas de messages
  d'Erreur en retour. J'ai vérifie avec la commande rfkill et tout est
  ok. En filaire tout va bien. J'ai fait aussi un test en live cd avec
  Lubuntu le même problème.
