  Typing to select documents turns off

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Normally, one can type the beginning of a document or folder's name to
  select it. After going a few directories into a folder structure, this
  feature turns off, and typing no longer brings up the little text
  input box in the lower right-hand corner.
