/usr/local/bin/gnome-control-center

I'd completely forgotten having installed this. Well spotted.

For any lurkers suffering from the same problem, I uninstalled this by
running "sudo make uninstall" from the source directory.

  Launching gnome-control-center fails:

  Installing the package named libgnome-desktop-2-17 fixes this problem,
  so it should be included as a dependency to gnome-control-center.
