[Bug 646405] power-manager fails to detect battery status and performs poweroff
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test
with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about
the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again
and we appreciate your help.

power-manager fails to detect battery status and performs poweroff

When I unplug the power-cord of my netbook, the power-manager says that the battery has an autonomy lesser than 2 minutes, and than it performs an hibernation.
Of course the battery is fully loaded and it has no problems.
I don't know if the problem is related to this hardware, as we had a very long issue with gnome-power-manager with Ubuntu Karmic. In that case we had the display blinking, and we worked around the issue by using kde guidance-power-manager within gnome, but now I can't find this package anymore.
Let's see if other people with different hardware comes with the same issue.
p.s.: hoping that we don't have this issue again for six months, and we are able to investigate and address the problem soon.
