Title:
  evince DVI support barely usable

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evince

I am not sure if this is a set of bugs, or just a lack of features,
but Evince appears to be severely lacking in functionality with
respect to DVI, as contrasted to PDF. Some observations:

  (1) It doesn't seem to be able to display the copyright symbol.
  (2) The navigation tree is empty.
  (3) The text layer is non-existent, so you can't select any text.

I know these are problems in Evince and not the document, since I am
generating the document from texinfo source that doesn't have any of
those problems when it pumps out as a PDF.
