Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test

Title:
  nautilus do not recognise cifs like network device (mount by fstab)

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

  I work with cifs over openvpn and it works very slowly. After
  different tests, my conclusion is the preview function. All the
  images, pdf, etc... is download to generate the thumbnail.

  The fstab (with _netdev):
  //192.168.1.1/gabriel	/home/gabriel/personal	cifs	noauto,_netdev,rw,noatime,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000,username=xxx,password=xxx,nounix,noserverino	0	1

  I try many instruction in fstab but nautilis do the same.

  Ubuntu 10.10
  GNOME nautilus 2.32.0
  Linux version 2.6.35-27-generic (buildd@palmer) (gcc version 4.4.5 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.4.4-14ubuntu5) ) #48-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 22 20:25:29 UTC 2011

  NOTE: If I mounted with "nautilus smb://192.168.1.1/gabriel" works
  properly, don't generate the thumbnails and it is more faster.
