[Bug 776120] Netbook edition of Natty won't load desktop

 

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test
with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-panel

  After an upgrade to 11.04, the desktop fails to load, this has been
  reported by another user, and a possible solution uploaded but so far
  no complete answer to solve the problem. I can get to a terminal
  screen and an internet screen using ctrl alt t nd the ctrl alt del
  then search for hep online

  the recommendation was to totry

  nautilus -q; gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel && killall gnome-
  panel

  but the process is not found
