[Bug 755764] MP3 files play correctly, but video files start playing with no audio, then program crashes and gives an error saying connection terminated
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test
with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about
it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate

Title:
MP3 files play correctly, but video files start playing with no audio,
then program crashes and gives an error saying connection terminated
Status in “gstreamer0.10” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Everything was working correctly until I installed the latest updates.
VLC still continues to work correctly, and this application still
plays mp3 audio files, but no avi, flv, or any other video file will
play correctly. They start playing but with no audio, then an error
message comes up. Several error windows come up on top of each other
saying connection terminated, pa_stream_cork() failed: connection
terminated, Disconnected: connection terminated,
pa_stream_writeable_size() failed: Connection terminated
