[Bug 774064] Closing laptop lid changes display settings
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test
with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about
it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate
your help.

Title:
Closing laptop lid changes display settings
Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
In 10.04 with all updates and 11.04 Desktop live CD, if I set the
action for closing the laptop lid to blank screens, then whenever I
open the lid after closing it the display settings change. I have an
external monitor, and closing and opening the lid results in different
combinations of screens being turned on and off, and mirrored mode
state.
In the 11.04 live CD after doing this a few times only the mouse
pointer was visible on an otherwise black screen(s), and I had to
hardware turn off the laptop.
I am using an Intel 965GM and a differently sized external monitor.
