[Bug 740286] gnome-volume-control: sizes its window to exceed screen size, which prevents acessing some controls
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test
with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about
it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate
your help.

Title:
gnome-volume-control: sizes its window to exceed screen size, which
prevents acessing some controls
Status in “gnome-media” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-media
Every now and then, gnome-volume control will somehow resize itself to
exceed the available screen space, for no particular reason, which
prevents accessing the controls that are at the bottom of its
dialogue.
Ideally, GTK should prevent such things from happening and add a
scroll bar to dialogues that would exceed the screen size for a valid
reason, or resize dialogues that don't have enough content to justify
the increased size to fit the available screen size.
