Oh, nice tip. That worked, thanks! Still though, one shouldn't have to
do that. Something is clearly getting trashed in the theme settings upon
upgrade to 11.10.

Bug description:
Upon upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10, empathy is now "unstyled." No
balloons, no formatting, it's quite ugly. The only thing that shows up
besides plaintext is the avatar images. Others are experiencing the
same issue.
