Title:
jockey-gtk crashed with BackendCrashError in convert_dbus_exceptions()
Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
My experience is somewhat different than the two related bugs offered
as potential dups, so I'm entering this as a separate bug. This is my
3rd installation attempt on this i5 computer. I'm sensing that the
11.10 installer doesn't like to install to a RAID volume, which seems
unfortunate. Mine is an Intel P55 controller integrated on my Gigabyte
GA-P55M-UD2 rev 1.1 motherboard. It seems to get along with Windows 7
just fine. The array is two 1.3 TB SATA2 drives. I created a 60 GB
partition for the Ubuntu boot volume and a 40 GB partition for the
swap space. These are the first two partitions on the RAID1 array. I
have a solid state drive (60 GB OCZ Vertex Turbo SATA II) as Drive C:
for Win7, but it really doesn't have enough room for Ubuntu to be on
there as well. On the other hand, since this last attempt didn't work,
I may try to create a small boot partition on it for Ubuntu, but I'm
not happy that it won't install on the RAID partitions. Not sure what
else to add. Shoot me an email if you need further info or want me to
try something different. Thx, Abbot
