[Bug 878939] Re: Nautilus resets to "Icons" view whenever I change directory
What value do you have in gconf-editor for
/apps/nautilus/preferences/default_folder_viewer?
The .convert has:
default-folder-viewer = /apps/nautilus/preferences/default_folder_viewer
so the value should have been converted on the first session start after
update...
** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided => Low
** Summary changed:
- Nautilus resets to "Icons" view whenever I change directory
+ default_folder_viewer not correctly migrated?

Title:
default_folder_viewer not correctly migrated?
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I've always been using the "List" view in Nautilus. Since Oneiric
however, the view reverts to "Icons" whenever I change directory.
System:
* Ubuntu Oneiric amd64
* Nautilus version 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu5
Steps to reproduce:
* Launch Nautilus by clicking "Home Folder" in the launcher
* Set view to "List" (CTRL-2)
* Double-click on the "Desktop" folder
Expected:
* The "Desktop" folder opens in "List" view
What happens instead:
* The "Desktop" folder opens in "Icons" view
Observations:
* Once you set "List" view, Nautilus remembers it, but _only_ for that folder! For every new folder, it falls back to "Icons" view. I want "List" view as default...
