Message #39983
[Bug 879108] Re: libreoffice package incompatible with languagetool extension and others
Thanks Christopher for your quick reply. I look at the bug report. Do
you know why this language tool has yet to be packaged for ubuntu. I do
not see any cons but many pros. Ubuntu is supposed to be user friendly
and whats my user -friendly than a top notch office suite with a top
notch multilingual grammar-checker.

Title:
libreoffice package incompatible with languagetool extension and
others
Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
When I try to install I get a java error etc. I have uninstalled it so
cannot screenshot but have noticed other people are having problems
with libreoffice ubuntu-packaged regarding extensions.
I believe these links are related.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862954
http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/133
Steps to reproduce.
1. Download and install languagetool in ubuntu-packaged Libreoffice
3.4.3 from languagetool.org
2. A java error or something similar will happen on restart of
libreoffice. One should not be able to use language tool.
Temporary Solution
Use the debs packaged from the libreoffice but global menu will not
work and to get kde integration one must do:
cd /opt/libreoffice3.4/basis-link/ure-link/lib
sudo mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.orig
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.9 libstdc++.so.6
