Title:
Cannot type-search the contents of a folder after showing hidden files
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
OS: Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64
Package: nautilus 1:3.2.0--ubuntu5
Steps to duplicate:
1. Open a new nautilus window (e.g. your home directory)
2. Using the keyboard, type "Music" --> This should highlight the "Music" folder in the current view, and it begins highlighting objects as soon as you start typing, narrowing down the focus to the item you want.
3. Now, hit CTRL+h (Or View->"Show Hidden Files")
4. Try typing in "Music" or anything else in your directory. The search field (that displays what you are typing) disappears, and searches become impossible.
Workaround:
- Closing the nautilus window in question "fixes" the problem in that you can begin searching again (the problem does not seem to persist between individual windows), but trying to show hidden files will break it again.
Notes:
- Re-hiding the objects does not make the problem go away.
