I found the error log.  It seems that something is getting stuck in an
infinite loop.  Could someone tell me what program or application is
causing this so i can disable it?  Also, it doesn't seem to matter if
I've put the computer in suspend recently.

  paragraph in this bug report is my problem.  It only seems to happen
  when I have Firefox open and go to a new website with lots of
  graphics.  The mouse moves but I can't click on anything and the
  keyboard doesn't respond.  I have to hold the power button to turn off
  the computer and when I turn it back on and go to the website that
  gave me trouble it works.  It only seems to happen if I've put the
  computer in suspend a few times in a row.
