Also, if Leave messages on server is checked, please make sure the
"Delete after days" spinner is set to 0: if it's at 0, messages will not
be automatically deleted.

Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Evolution arbitrarily deleted all my week or more old messages
  (probably a new default setting) from the server even though I didn't
  set this behaviour in the older version (in Ubuntu 11.04). It
  destroyed my several years old archive of rather important messages on
  server which I have now only in Evolution on single machine. :-/
