[Bug 876495] Re: bug on restarting networking service
Dear Wagner,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 876495
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
I have however been able to reproduce the problem by simply using the
command as described in the original post but logs are necessary to
trouble shoot any further.
Many thanks,
Peter Dam (SwitchDK)

Title:
bug on restarting networking service
Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 desktop version and I configure my network via
"interfaces" file.
The problem is that whenever I use "sudo service networking --full-restart" my GUI crashes.
I'm not sure if it crashes only the GUI though. The crash was confirmed on fresh system
install too.
Thanks for your attention.
