On Ubuntu Oneiric, please try installing the libnotify0.4-cil package
from https://launchpad.net/~hyperair/+archive/staging/+packages, then
restart Banshee and see if that solves the issue.

Bug description:
  On Oneiric Alpha 3, using Banshee 2.1.0 in gnome-shell with
  notification extension turned on.  Sometimes the label appears
  correctly (as "Banshee"), sometimes not (as "notify-sharp").
