I mean save it in .odt format. . . Office will save it and everything
seems OK, but if you try to open the saved .odt file it just fails.

  I have a docx file from Apple Office I think.  It opens fine and
  converts, however if I save this file in .odt format, it saves, but
  will NOT open again.
