[Bug 589217] Re: file size format is GiB not GB

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or
feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an
issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Oneiric Ocelot, May
you please test with that version and comment back if you're still
having or not the issue? Please have a look at
http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

Title:
file size format is GiB not GB

Status in Nautilus:

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

in the nautilus, in Properties dialoge it says GB for the file size .
but infact it is showing the file size as GiB .

so either change the file size format to GiB or change the appendix
  to GiB.

GiB (Geby Byte) is a standard that was defined by the International
Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in December 1998.

More Information on this bug :
to test this , you can try to burn a folder that nautilus shows as 4.5 GB [which can fit on a bank 4.7GB DVD] but you will see it wont fit , because infact the folder size is not is not 4.5 GB . and it is 4.5 GiB . Nautilus measures the filesize GiB (binary Giga byte), but by mistake it shows as GB (Decimal Giga Byte)
