Title:
  To hide files/directories is complex

Status in Nautilus:
  Confirmed
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
In Windows, if the user wants to hide a file or a directory he simply
has got to change the attribute of it to "hidden".

In Ubuntu, if the user wants to hide a file he cannot do it simply with a mouse-click. He has got to create a file called ".hidden" in the same directory where he has the files he wishes to hide. Then he has to add the names of files & directories to that file, one per line.
It would be nice if you add a script to Nautilus for doing this process automatically with one click.

On this german blog, for example, the author has put a script, I have
not tested it yet. But there are surely others on the internet or You
  can build an original one.
