This pygobject crash seems to be fixed in the final 11.10 release.

  software-properties-gtk crashed with TypeError in __init__(): must be
  an interface

  Fix Released

Bug description:
  after disable third party graphic drvier for ati/amd graphice card and
  after reboot i loged in gnome shell desktop an it looked quiet well.
  then i want to change the display backround in the system settings and
  the failure message was here. also the menu in the backround settings
  changed from normal view to something strange.
