[Bug 880834] Re: URLs in message body not opening in browser

Click on the Dash and enter System Info. Go to Default Applications and
see if an installed browser is selected in Web. If not, pick it from the
menu and try again.

If it is already selected, comment on which browser it is and weather
clicking on links from software other than Thunderbird(evince, empathy)
works.

Title:
  URLs in message body not opening in browser

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  When a message contains URLs, thunderbird successfully identifies and
  shows them as blue, underlined text. However, when they are clicked
  on with the mouse, they do not launch a browser or even open a new tab
  in an already open browser. I would expect that blue, underlined URLs
  in the body of a message would open in the browser.

  $ apt-cache policy thunderbird
  thunderbird:
    Installed: 7.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
    Candidate: 7.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
    Version table:
   *** 7.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 0
          500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description:	Ubuntu 11.10
  Release:	11.10
