[Bug 886943] Re: dvd will not play media

 

Some DVDs are encrypted to prevent pirates from copying the movie. While
commercial players already include the required (proprietary and
licensed) decryption software, for legal reasons Ubuntu can not include
it. For this reason, you will need to download and install it
separately.

Be wary of the fact that this library will bypass the DVD protection;
installing it might be illegal.
