Title:
gnome-terminal doesn't close menubar for new terminals

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I've customized the profile to uncheck "Open menubar in new
terminals". However, it is shown for new terminals. In the edit menu,
"Show menubar" is not checked. If I check it, nothing happens. If I
now uncheck it, finally the menubar goes away. I don't want the
  menubar ever
