Thanks a lot for reporting this bug, however since Evolution is no
longer a part of the default Ubuntu installation, this bug no longer
constitutes a papercut.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: evolution
I like having Evolution's sidebar as narrow as possible. When I switch
to Calendar view, it is automatically expanded to fit a little
calendar. However, when I switch back to Mail, I cannot narrow it
again until I restart Evolution. My English is not very good, so see
the attached image for clarification.
I know that the window must fit the widgets, but I think it does not
need to fit hidden components, just like those "> View details" things
that change the size of dialogs.
If you consider this is not a bug, then I would like to be able to
disable the little calendar in the sidebar.
I'm using Jaunty amd64, but I'm experiencing this bug since the first
time I used Evolution, back in 2006.
