Title:
odd nautilus beahavior when browsing files by pressing letter keys

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Start nautilus and start browsing some files. The you may press, say
the "E" key in the keyboard for nautilus go and select the first E
file in the list. Then press another letter, and start writing a word,
like "EXPLORE" because yo know there is a file called "explorer.txt"
that you want to find. Now if you miss type a letter you cannot delete
or correct using the BACKSPACE key because it will go back in folder
level and put you in the previous level. If you want to correct the
mistake and find your file, you must double click somewhere and start
to write again. This nautilus feature is very useful and it is not
  working.
