Title:
The transfer progress indication is suboptimal
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
When I move files to an external device the progress bar is almost
useless.
Example:
1) I begin to move two files (1 GB each) to an SD card.
2) Progress bar is moving at over 100 MB/s until it reaches 1 GB.
3) It's 1 GB for some time before it moves quickly to 2 GB and remains there for some time before the transfer is complete.
The problem is, as I understand it, the file is sent to a cache and
that is the action shown. This is quite wrong as the progress bar is
there to provide information about how much time/data there is left
until the action is complete.
I am running an updated version of 11.10.
