[Bug 865843] Re: Gnome mistakes battery time to full as time to empty and triggers automatic hibernate

This bug is clearly not a duplicate of bug #531190, so I'm removing the
duplicate status. This bug is specific to 11.10 and is not present in
10.04.

Title:
Gnome mistakes battery time to full as time to empty and triggers
  automatic hibernate

Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I unplugged the power adapter from my laptop with the battery fully
charged. 5 minutes later, I plugged it back in, and Gnome immediately
informed me that my battery was critically low and prompted me to
hibernate my system. The power manager icon in the indicator area read
7 minutes to full charge at the time.

Looks like gnome is confusing time to empty and time to full charge.
