it has been discussed in the past, the facebook XMPP api does not allow
that so this is not something that empathy can fix in a simple way.

  i have entered facebook and google mail account in empathy and i see
  that the facebook contacts mixed with the gmail contacts.and there is
  no differentiation between them,the facebook contacts have saparate
  account list and gmail also.
