Title:
switching user fails in Oneiric
Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When switching user from the user-panel, I get the lightdm login screen all right, but when I enter the password nothing happens. In dmesg it says:
[ 355.465606] lightdm[2546]: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp b775114c error 4 in libpam.so.0.83.0[110000+c000]
[ 355.466977] init: lightdm main process (902) killed by SEGV signal
I happens both in unity and unity2D.
The system has been upgraded from 10.04 to 10.11
Release:
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10
$ apt-cache policy lightdm
lightdm:
Installeret: 1.0.1-0ubuntu6
Kandidat: 1.0.1-0ubuntu6
Versionstabel:
*** 1.0.1-0ubuntu6 0
500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Expected behavior: being logged into unity.
What happens: apparently nothing
