[Bug 893492] Re: Calc doesn't respect document protection

 

karaluh, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As
per http://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Protect_Document Protect Document
does not protect from editing the cells, only "...insert, delete,
rename, move or copy sheets. " If you want to protect cell contents you
will want to click tools -> protect document -> sheet. This keeps
compatibility with Excel functionality expectations. Feel free to report
any future bugs you may find.

  As in summary. Create new spreadsheet and tools->protect
  document->document. After enabling the protection you can still modify
  any cell in all sheets.
